Derived from the theme of flying, The Cloud is a creative hub that fully integrates customization, sustainability, and flexibility. The design encapsulates the journey of flight, with every movement within the building symbolizing a flying journey. The paths created promote efficient circulation and foster interactions among people and nature, which, according to research, boost company creativity and productivity.
The Cloud stands out for its unique properties. It serves as the headquarters for a renowned aviation company, accommodating up to 10,000 people within a total area of 162,800 m2. The design includes the lobby, typical offices, bathrooms, tourist elevators, amenities, day care, exhibition, and a unique flying zone. The flying zone is a testament to the design's adaptability, serving as a drone testing area and a space for everyday enjoyment.
The realization of The Cloud embraced the principles of flexibility, customization, and sustainability. The design aims to achieve LEED and WELL qualifications, promoting an active lifestyle with facilities such as a gym, daycare, outdoor garden, and indoor flying garden. The building's design also considers the rise of AI and the potential need for more server space in the future, demonstrating its future-proof nature.
The project, which started in April 2017 in Shenzhen, China, faced several challenges. One of the most significant was creating a test fly zone for drones and people. Using stage equipment from performance theater, the design team created a movable flying garden that caters to both drone testing and day-to-day enjoyment. The Cloud is a future-proofed office, designed to adapt to unexpected needs, whether accommodating more staff or more servers.
The Cloud's innovative design has earned it prestigious recognition. It was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018, a testament to its creative and professional excellence. This design showcases a remarkable level of expertise and innovation, introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
